ROBOR / INTEGRATION

Developer starter resources

Capture original receive data first, then interpret it using the verified model/version protocol.

1. Establish a baseline

Verify reception with the official software using the same device, cable and port, then close it. Do not open the same port in the application and example simultaneously.

2. Receive-only Python example

The ZIP contains a serial-to-JSONL logger and synthetic-data tests. Specify the port and rate explicitly. The device must already be streaming; the example sends no commands and changes no output settings or firmware.

3. Separate logging from interpretation

Raw bytes are preserved as hex with a PC receive timestamp. That timestamp is not the sensor sample time. Confirm fields, units and output mask before interpreting records as orientation data.

Offline CSV decoder

decode_sync.py is a V2/V3 example requiring the model, capture and an explicitly confirmed sd mask. Do not apply it to V1. Mask 0xDD has 17 fields without temperature; roll/pitch/yaw are columns 11/12/13 (one-based). Mask 0x41 has four fields: time and roll/pitch/yaw. Do not infer the mask from field count alone.

4. CAN and RS-485 integration

Confirm CANopen objects, node ID, bitrate, adapter and bridge. For RS-485, confirm wiring, termination and bus policy. This serial example cannot be applied directly to a CAN adapter and is not a hardware compatibility certification.

Download Python example + tests
python -m pip install -r requirements.txt
python receive_only.py --port COM3 --baud 115200 --seconds 30 --output capture.jsonl

COM3 and 115200 are examples; use your port and confirmed current rate. Run synthetic tests with: python -m unittest -v test_receive_only.py test_decode_sync.py

python decode_sync.py --model v2 --input capture.jsonl --mask 0xDD --output decoded.csv
